The process of getting a crown made involves filing or filling the tooth to the proper shape and getting accurate impressions made, so the crowns are custom-fit. During your next visit, the temporary crown will be removed so that the dentist can set the permanent one in using a special adhesive. A local anaesthetic is usually used so that you won’t feel a thing, but general sedation is available for those who would prefer to sleep through the procedure.
