We all know how important it is to visit the dentist regularly to ensure good oral health. This is especially true for children, who need frequent check-ups to catch potential issues early on and to help establish healthy dental habits that will last a lifetime. However, children may view the unfamiliar sights and sounds of the dentist’s office as being scary.
At Yeronga Park Dental, we help make going to the dentist non-threatening for children. We offer fun games and child-appropriate information which teaches kids why going to the dentist is so important, and why they should take care of their teeth. Our dentists are warm and friendly, never scary, so children feel welcome. Together, our three dentists have had over 60 years’ experience treating patients of all ages, so we know how to connect with the kids and help them to overcome their dentist-chair jitters.
For younger children, we know that sitting in the dentist’s chair can mean an uncomfortable period of separation from mum and dad. This doesn’t need to be the case, however. If your youngster is nervous about leaving your side, ask us about allowing you to come along to provide support. Your presence in the room could set their mind at ease.
